Anyone know of any collection of Rakugo videos/audio along with transcripts? I’ve wanted to get into Rakugo for a while but find it hard to follow along a lot of times.
Has anyone else gotten into Rakugo? Any tips?

Not exactly what you’re asking for but have you heard of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu? I haven’t watched it but it’s an anime about people doing rakugo, and is apparently very good, so it might be a good place to start? Kitsunekko does have the subs.
Edit: There’s also Tiger and Dragon if you’d prefer a drama.
Yep I have this, but I’ve been unable to find well timed subs from Kitsunekko that match the rips I have. If you know a pairing that works please PM me.
I guess I was looking more for L-R stuff - combo audio + transcripts of Rakugo. I know some Rakugo performers have their works published in books, but I’m unsure how well these line up w their actual recorded performances.
柳家・東三楼 is touring the United States and performing rakugo in English.
Here’s an article and here’s his Facebook page.
This is why I was recommending the anime. I’m assuming there are rakugo performances in it. Perhaps they’re abridged and dumbed down, but that might make them the perfect place to start. I really don’t get the problem with mistimed subs. They require a little extra effort but much less than learning Rakugo. Right?
Like I said, I haven’t watched the show so I may be talking out of my ass here. It just seems like we only have dual text and audio for the anime because it’s so popular, and holding out for something more convenient in such a niche interest is overly optimistic. Maybe there is material aimed at aspiring performers that will have what you want.
古今亭志ん朝 二朝会 CDブック
I saw this 16 disc set when I was looking for something else. It seems the audio quality is good, but perhaps there is no transcript. Publisher’s page below.
Oooh nice - thanks!
